Explore Victorian Port Townsend with this Interactive Map
Our exclusive map will enhance your experience of Port Townsend’s architectural beauty like never before!
The Adams Pragge House’s Explore Victorian Port Townsend Map includes more than 300 locations and hundreds of historical images: iconic estates, lesser-known commercial buildings, humble homes. All are integral to the character of this quintessentially Victorian seaport community.
Within this map you’ll find house names and construction dates. You’ll also discover information about builders, owners and residents. And through hundreds of remarkable photos from the 1880s to early 1900s, you’ll be able to see how much Port Townsend has changed and — strikingly — how much has remained this same for more than 125 years!
“Port Townsend is a museum and you are the caretakers.”
~Victor Steinbrueck, Architect and Preservationist, 1961

We love researching local history! The Adams Pragge House co-owner Joseph Lavy painstakingly identified each location and reviewed all available records to create the most comprehensive map possible.
Whether you’re a first-time visitor walking around town, a lifelong resident, or a vicarious internet explorer, we hope you’ll find this map a valuable resource about Port Townsend’s heritage.
As new information and images become available, we will continue updating the map.
