While getting to Port Townsend is easy, your arrival can be delayed by construction, bridge openings, ferry wait times or staffing shortages, etc. Please check and plan early for ferry wait times, bridge openings, construction, etc. The ferry from Coupeville (Whidbey Island) to downtown Port Townsend holds some stand-by spots for each trip but is a smaller vessel and stand-by waits can be long, so we recommend advance reservation. The Victoria to Port Angeles ferry also is best taken with a reservation. Most other Washington State Ferries do not take reservations. Here are some resources: Washington State Ferries and Bridge Information.
